As part of the initiative, renowned tiger painters from Ranthambore, Rajasthan, were invited to Similipal National Park, where they undertook a guided exploration of the landscape to gain a deeper understanding of its terrain and tiger habitat. The artists created large-format canvases capturing Similipal’s distinctive ecosystem and its rare melanistic tigers.
A series of art workshops (27–30 November 2024) were conducted for students from nearby schools, introducing them to the fundamentals of tiger illustration while fostering awareness about Similipal’s biodiversity and ecological uniqueness. The residency concluded with a felicitation ceremony and an exhibition of student artworks on 30 November 2024.
In addition, workshops were organised for local women, focusing on the traditional Bhit Patow art form adapted onto paper, promoting both cultural preservation and environmental awareness.
