What We Are Doing
- Promoting Indigenous Art
We are revitalising traditional art forms such as Bhit Patow (Santali wall painting), reimagining them as contemporary expressions that also carry messages of conservation. - Preserving Language & Identity
Through the Lighthouse Project, we are encouraging the preservation of indigenous scripts like Ol Chiki and Warang Citi, actively engaging youth in safeguarding their cultural heritage. - Enabling Sustainable Livelihoods
By strengthening local art and craft ecosystems like working on Bhit Patow on a miniature form on Paper, we are creating opportunities for communities to build sustainable income while retaining authenticity. - Fostering Dialogue & Awareness
Through The Similipal Talks, we are connecting communities with students, researchers, and institutions—creating a platform for dialogue around ecology, culture, and conservation.
Through an integrated approach that brings together art, culture, and conservation, The Similipal Initiative by MGM Foundation endeavours to create a meaningful and enduring socio-cultural impact while fostering a deeper connection between communities and their natural environment.
