A wonderful confluence of art, education, and conservation awareness in the heart of Similipal.
From 23rd to 30th November 2024, the MGM Foundation held the Similipal Artists Residency and a series of Art Workshops to celebrate Similipal’s unique landscape and its iconic melanistic tigers. Tiger painters from Ranthambore, Rajasthan, created large canvases inspired by Similipal’s forests and wildlife, while workshops with students from nearby schools encouraged them to draw tigers and engage in discussions about the terrain, biodiversity, and the distinctiveness of Similipal’s black tigers.
Workshops were organised at Durdura Govt. High School on 27th November, MahardaPalasa Govt. Boys High School on 28th November, and with Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandira, Jashipur, and Madarangajodi Govt. High School on 29th November.
